Apply to a wet or dry scalp. Part hair and use the nozzle to disperse all over scalp and hairline. Massage with fingertips, leave for 1-2 minutes and then rinse. Follow with a Hairburst Shampoo and Conditioner. Use 1-2 times per week.

How does it work

The exfoliating scalp scrub gives a deep clean feeling for all hair types and particularly supports those with excess oil or dry flaky scalps. It works to remove dead skin cells, balance moisture levels and your microbiome, leaving a fresh, clean feeling as part of your weekly hair care routine.

Warnings: Avoid contact with eyes, in case contact occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water. If irritation persists, seek medical advice. Keep out of reach of children. Not to be used for children under 3 years of age.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should you use a scalp scrub?

We wouldn't recommend using this scrub more often than once or twice a week. Exfoliation removes oil from the scalp, and frequent exfoliation may cause the scalp to become irritated and sensitive and can sometimes then over-produce oil.

How long shall I leave the scalp scrub on for?

Apply to the scalp and massage, leave in for 1-2 minutes before rinsing for best results.

Should I apply this to wet or dry hair?

We recommend that you apply to wet or damp hair before your normal hair washing routine. Start with the scrub, then follow with a Hairburst Shampoo & Conditioner for best results.

How does exfoliating the scalp improve hair growth?

The scalp scrub acts as an exfoliator which removes dead skin cells and product build up that can clog the scalp and cause shedding. If the scalp is clean, clear and balanced it gives the optimum environment for healthy hair growth and can prevent hair shedding and improve hair health at the same time. Massaging the hair and scalp has also been linked with stimulating hair follicles which contributes to hair growth.

Does this help with dandruff?

Yes, Piroctone Olamine decreases excess oil and can destroy the fungus responsible for dandruff and prevents formation of new dandruff. Glycolic Acid and Bamboo and Peach stone powders also exfoliate away dead skin cells.

Does the glycolic acid cause any irritation? Should someone with a sensitive scalp not use this?

The scrub is gentle to use and shouldn't cause irritation. For a more sensitve scalp we recommend using less frequently than 1-2 times per week, and would not encourage use on Psoriasis, Exczema or any open cuts on the scalp.

If I use just the scalp scrub alone and no other products, will I still see growth results?

We would encourage using our scalp scrub to optimise your scalp environment and hair care routine. We would always recommend taking one of our Vitamins, and using our topical products alongside to get best results.

Are there any of the other products I can use alongside this to improve the results even more?

If you are looking to improve your scalp health, then we recommend using our Scalp Massage tool alongside your shampoo on days you aren't using this product. We would also recommend taking our Vitamins for hair and scalp health from within.

How much of this should I be applying?

Apply along your parting, and section hair and apply along those partings in a thin line to cover all over the scalp.

Is this for a specific hair type?

This is for all hair types, but works particularly well for those who have an oily scalp and roots, or dry, flaky scalps.
